One of Gansey's in-game powers is Charmspeaking. When using it, his voice will have an additional layer of sonics which have a hypnotic effect to make the listener more willing to believe what he says / do what he says / agree with him, and so on.
This power can affect your characters, if you would like it to! It has the following limitations:
This will be an active power, meaning that he needs to be deliberately trying to be convincing. It will therefore not be 'on' every time he speaks, but it will sometimes activate when he is arguing or debating with someone, even if he's not deliberately trying to Charmspeak. Learning to control this will take time and practice, and at first, he will struggle with using it when he doesn't mean to;
It will be possible to hear the difference in the tone of his voice while he's using this power. It will sound deeper, as though he's speaking with an echo;
This power is based on sonics and aural reception; it is not a psychic power, and Gansey neither has insight to nor control over anyone else's mind. This also means that a psychic shield will not protect from it;
He will only be able to convince people to do things that they are physically capable of doing - no matter how much he tries to tell them to grow gills and live underwater, they won't be able to do it;
He can however use it for things like convincing someone to tell the truth, convincing them to help him, convincing them that his opinion is right, and so on;
He must be able to speak to use this power, and the person he is speaking to must both be able to hear him and understand him in order for it to work;
The effectiveness of this power on other people will depend on them: the strength of their will in general, their overall gullibility, and the strength of their feelings on a particular issue, will make them more or less susceptible depending on the character;
The effects will gradually wear off when Gansey has finished speaking.
I will always plot it out with you before having Gansey use this power in a thread.
